LPN/LVN - Advanced Urology Clinic

About the role

The Advanced Urology Clinic at Raleigh General Hospital seeks a LPN/LVN to contribute to patient care under the direction of an RN. Key responsibilities include collecting data, administering medication, assisting with activities of daily living, and scheduling appointments.

Responsibilities

• Collects data for analysis by an RN
• Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care
• Administers medication
• Documents patient care given
• Aids in the development of the plan of care
• Aids patients with personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation
• Maintains and communicates patient status and reactions to interventions
• Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider
• Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested
• Communicates decision recommendations for staffing overtime and low census to the manager for approval
• Assists with orientation and training of personnel and students
• Attends meetings as required and/or assigned
• Performs other related duties as assigned or requested

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved practical nursing program
• Current LPN/PN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• BCLS certification within 30 days of hire/transfer

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of urologic conditions and treatments
