About the role

Spring Valley Hospice is seeking a passionate, dedicated Hospice LPN to join our team in Olive Branch, MS. Our hospice LPNs provide expert, patient-centered care at a critical time in people’s lives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 care to make a lasting impact on patients and families

  • Give hands-on care to patients nearing the end of life, following state nursing rules
  • Assess the patient’s needs and follow the care plan
  • Keep clear and timely records of the care provided
  • Teach and support patients and their families about the illness and care plan
  • Communicate with the hospice team (like aides, chaplains, social workers) to help coordinate care
  • Manage pain and symptoms, checking how well treatments are working
  • Take part in training and quality improvement activities to grow professionally and improve care

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program
  • Three years nursing experience
  • Community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience is preferred
  • Currently licensed as an LPN/LVN in the State
  • Comply with accepted professional standards and practice
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order
  • Possess and maintain current CPR certification
  • Understand philosophy of hospice concept
  • Understand needs of the terminally ill
  • Use own knowledge and experience base and other resources as necessary to make logical decisions and solve problems
  • Demonstrate good verbal and written communication, and organization skills
