LPN / Licensed Practical Nurse - Hospice
About the Role
Hospice of North Alabama is seeking a passionate, dedicated Hospice LPN to join our team in Parkersburg, WV. Our hospice LPNs provide expert, patient-centered care at a critical time in people’s lives in Wood, Pleasants, Ritchie, Wirt, Calhoun, and Roane counties.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on care to patients nearing the end of life, following state nursing rules.
- Follow the care plan after assessing the patient’s needs.
- Maintain clear and timely records of the care provided.
- Teach and support patients and their families about the illness and care plan.
- Coordinate care by communicating with the hospice team (aides, chaplains, social workers).
- Manage pain and symptoms, evaluating the effectiveness of treatments.
- Participate in training and quality improvement activities to grow professionally and improve care.

Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program.
- Three years of nursing experience; community health/hospice or medical/surgical experience preferred.
- Current LPN/LVN license in the State.
- Compliance with accepted professional standards and practice.
- Licensed driver with an insured automobile in good working order.
- Current CPR certification.
- Understanding of hospice philosophy and needs of the terminally ill.
- Ability to make logical decisions and solve problems using knowledge and resources.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
