LPN - Full Time

About the role

We are searching for a 5 day a week LPN to work as an endoscopy LPN, as well as in pre‑op and post‑op Monday – Friday. The position requires cooperative work with staff and physicians and performance of a variety of tasks.

Responsibilities

• Participates in center safety and infection control programs
• Assists physicians with endoscopy procedures
• Handles and processes patient specimens
• Assists in maintenance of all supplies
• Monitors patient condition and vital signs and maintains accurate documentation
• Reports any observed abnormalities to the Registered Nurse
• Starts IV
• Utilizes the nursing process to develop, plan, deliver, and execute patient’s plan of care during the postoperative period
• Assists the patient, if necessary, with dressing
• Performs safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate post‑operative/post‑anesthesia period
• Assesses and legibly documents the patient’s physical and emotional status upon arrival in the recovery room
• Develops a plan of care for the patient based on patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia
• Monitors and reports any abnormal observed complications to the RN, anesthesia provider, and physician, as appropriate

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Practical nursing
• Current State License as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Current BLS IV certification
