LPN - Float Pool - Full-Time

About the Role

Join our ambulatory Float Pool team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). You'll work with diverse teams across multiple medical clinics, gaining a breadth of experience and expanding your skills. LPNs assist in providing excellent patient care by supporting physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners in a medical office setting. You will perform a variety of patient care duties within a multidisciplinary team as delegated by a physician.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the provider and the Arizona State Nurse Practice Act to provide professional nursing care for clinic patients in compliance with nursing standards and regulations.
• Triage patients by phone or in person, receive and implement telephone physician orders, and maintain clinical communication in a dynamic environment.
• Assist providers and staff in coordinating patient care for both clinic and procedures.
• Perform CLIA-waived lab tests, obtain specimens, perform proficiency testing, and run controls for waived tests.
• May perform venipuncture.

Requirements

• Graduate of a practical or vocational nursing program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current, valid Arizona LPN license or compact state LPN/LVN license.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification.
• Must be able to distinguish appropriate colors, communicate using a telephone, and consistently reach and/or work above and below shoulder level while lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Capable of walking or being on feet 90% of the time per day with frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, standing, and sitting at a desk 10% of the time per day.
• Routine potential for exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, chemicals, biological, and radioactive substances.
