About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will provide compassionate nursing care to residents in the Emergency Department, under the direction of a physician or Registered Nurse. You will assess resident needs, deliver essential physical or psychosocial care, and ensure their comfort and safety.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the execution of the nursing process, providing care based on a defined care delivery model.
- Observes, reports, and documents physical and behavioral signs and symptoms, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Reiterates and reinforces instructions regarding medications, pre- and post-operative information, and patient/family teaching.
- Prepares and performs routine diagnostic, laboratory, and therapeutic treatment procedures.
- Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and identifies emergencies, initiating appropriate responses.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent recognized military training, upon hire.
- One year of related work experience.
- Licensed Practical Nurse: WA, upon hire.
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire (RQI).
Preferred
- One year of related work experience in an acute care healthcare environment.
