About the role
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides patient care in a dermatology clinic under the supervision of a licensed provider or RN.
Responsibilities
- Obtaining vital signs, health histories, and medication information
- Assisting with dermatologic procedures such as biopsies and excisions
- Administering medications and treatments within scope
- Educating patients about skin conditions and treatments
- Coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals
- Documenting care accurately in electronic medical records
- Participating in quality improvement
- Maintaining confidentiality
- Adhering to safety and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Practical Nursing program
- Current LPN license
- Basic Life Support certification
- Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds
Preferred experience
- Dermatology or outpatient care
- Proficiency in patient education and outpatient procedures
