About the Role
Provides direct and indirect outpatient nursing care under RN supervision, serving as a resource for LPN staff.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and reviews patient records
- Implements nursing procedures, administers treatments, medications, and immunizations
- Performs point-of-care testing
- Manages patient discharge and referrals
- Documents care and monitors patient responses
- Collaborates with RNs and practitioners to adjust care plans
- Coordinates immunization data management and maintains vaccine inventories
- Ensures compliance with health guidelines and VFC program standards
- Provides patient education and assists with clinical procedures
- Ensures infection control protocols are followed
- Trains and mentors new team members
- Manages supplies and schedules patient care
- Handles documentation
Requirements
- Licensed Practical Nurse with Hawaii licensure
- BLS certification
- At least 12 months of LPN experience
- Knowledge of nursing procedures, immunization protocols, and infection control
Preferred Skills
- Acute care experience
- Proficiency in PC applications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
