As an LPN on the Family Medicine team, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population, making a lasting difference in patients' lives while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and educational resources within the Cleveland Clinic system.

Schedule

This position works days from 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
  • Administer medication.
  • Recognize changes in patients' status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records and files.
  • Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.
  • Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
  • Perform patient teaching as needed under the supervision of RN/Physician.
  • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Follow Code Blue protocol.
  • Assess, plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate patient progress in conjunction with the RN or physician.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an Accredited LPN program.
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross.
  • Knowledge of Infection Control Practices.
  • Experience with technology and computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of clinical experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Frequent talking and listening when giving instructions and explanations.
  • Frequent use of the phone and fax machines; occasional use of the computer.
  • Constant lifting and moving of patients, carrying equipment, supplies, and material up to 50 pounds without help and over 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, and manipulation of equipment.

Working Conditions

  • Majority of time spent indoors in air-conditioned areas.
  • Significant potential for exposure to blood and bloodborne pathogens, requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, gowns, and goggles.
  • Follows Standard Precautions using PPE as required for procedures.
