About the role

Erlanger Behavioral Health Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a psychiatric hospital offering mental health care for various age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The purpose is to provide nursing care and services within the standards and scope of nursing practice, as defined by state regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor patient health and administer basic care using the nursing process.
• Implement nursing interventions identified in the plan of care.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, coworkers, and others involved in the patient's treatment.
• Provide for the safe delivery of medication in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Document patient symptoms, responses, and progress accurately and thoroughly.
• Collaborate with others to meet the physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental, and cultural needs of patients.
• Report status changes and concerns to registered nurses and doctors.
• Model expectations related to customer service and demonstrate a sense of urgency regarding patient safety.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• One or more years of nursing experience within a clinical area of service provided by the facility (preferred).
• Current LPN/LVN license as required by the state.
• CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification (training available upon hire and offered by the facility).
