LPN 3 - Cardiac Surgery - Full Time

About the role

The Cardiac Surgery Unit at Mercy is a 24-private bed facility dedicated to pre and post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, those with cardiac dysrhythmias requiring IV drips, vascular surgery patients, and general medical overflow.

Responsibilities

• Care for pre and post-operative cardiac surgery patients
• Treatment of cardiac dysrhythmias requiring IV drips
• Treatment of vascular surgery patients
• Treatment of general medical overflow
• Work on a supportive team including educators, PCA/PCT's, Case Managers, Respiratory Therapists, Dieticians, PT/OT, and Speech Therapists
• Earn credentials in ACLS
• Build strong clinical skills for the cardiac and vascular population

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Licensure: Current LPN license within the hiring state
• One or more of the following certifications: ACLS, PALS, PEARs, S.T.A.B.L.E., BLS, LPN-IV Certification
• Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, prolonged standing and walking during each shift, ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
• Licensure: Must obtain and maintain a current LPN license within the hiring state
• Certification(s): ACLS, PALS, PEARs, S.T.A.B.L.E., BLS certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
• Physical Requirements: Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis, prolonged standing and walking during each shift, ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
