Job Summary
The Interventionist will play a crucial role in supporting students in lower school who are facing challenges in foundational academic skills, with a particular emphasis on literacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer assessments to evaluate students’ literacy skills and overall academic performance
- Analyze assessment data to inform instructional practices and interventions
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment outcomes
- Regularly monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed to ensure growth
- Conduct initial screenings to identify students in need of intervention support
- Communicate progress updates to parents and teachers effectively
- Work closely with classroom teachers to identify at-risk students and share strategies for supporting their learning
- Collaborate with special education staff, reading specialists, and other relevant personnel to coordinate support services
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of school-wide literacy initiatives
- Provide direct instruction and small group intervention focused on literacy development
- Create engaging and effective instructional materials tailored to the needs of earners
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Experience working with young learners, particularly in literacy development
- Strong understanding of assessment tools and intervention strategies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for helping students succeed and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment
