Lowbed Driver
Sign-on bonus of $2,500 for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Dispatched to transport construction materials to customer or job site locations; may be assigned to move materials at different job sites.
- Conducts all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.
- Performs daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle to maintain safety and check for damage, worn parts, or tampering; reports issues to the shop immediately.
- Drives to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads.
- Maintains a truck log in accordance with state, federal, and company regulations.
- Communicates problems with traffic or site conditions promptly; gathers information on job site locations, including light bridges or roads en route.
- Complies with all truck maintenance, cleanliness, and repair guidelines specified in the Truck Driver's Handbook.
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License required for Low bed/Low boy; valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License required for Tilt and Flat bed.
- In compliance with all DOT physical requirements.
- Previous experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s license required.
Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
- Ability to give and receive written or oral instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Must pass DOT physicals.
- Skilled in loading and unloading heavy equipment.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in all situations.
- Ability to read maps and follow directions to locations.
- Physically able to operate, move about, and maintain a dump truck.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
- Ability to interact professionally with the public and company personnel while making deliveries.
- Ability to demonstrate safe driving practices; poor driving reflects negatively on the company.
- Adaptable and flexible.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged sitting followed by hooking up, loading, and unloading equipment.
- Requires extensive and heavy physical activity and dexterity.
- Must be able to drive for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
Work Environment
- Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Pay
Hourly range: $27.00 – $35.00, based on experience.
