Lowbed Driver

Sign-on bonus of $2,500 for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Dispatched to transport construction materials to customer or job site locations; may be assigned to move materials at different job sites.
• Conducts all work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.
• Performs daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle to maintain safety and check for damage, worn parts, or tampering; reports issues to the shop immediately.
• Drives to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and local roads.
• Maintains a truck log in accordance with state, federal, and company regulations.
• Communicates problems with traffic or site conditions promptly; gathers information on job site locations, including light bridges or roads en route.
• Complies with all truck maintenance, cleanliness, and repair guidelines specified in the Truck Driver's Handbook.
• Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License required for Low bed/Low boy; valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License required for Tilt and Flat bed.
• In compliance with all DOT physical requirements.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required.

• Ability to give and receive written or oral instructions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Must pass DOT physicals.
• Skilled in loading and unloading heavy equipment.
• Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in all situations.
• Ability to read maps and follow directions to locations.
• Physically able to operate, move about, and maintain a dump truck.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to change.
• Ability to interact professionally with the public and company personnel while making deliveries.
• Ability to demonstrate safe driving practices; poor driving reflects negatively on the company.
• Adaptable and flexible.

Physical Demands

• Prolonged sitting followed by hooking up, loading, and unloading equipment.
• Requires extensive and heavy physical activity and dexterity.
• Must be able to drive for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Work Environment

• Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Pay

Hourly range: $27.00 – $35.00, based on experience.
