Low Voltage Technicians

About the role

Responsible for surveying and repairing old Public Address (PA) or PBX/Telephone systems. Also inspects, removes old systems, installs or replaces with temporary systems, interfaces with existing VOIP systems, programs new PA systems, installs and programs temporary passing bells, wires and tests new PA systems, and interfaces with existing VOIP systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, removes old PA systems and installs or replaces with temporary systems
• Ensures that temporary PA systems interface with PBX/Telephone systems prior to installation of new ones
• Cleans up and removes temporary PA systems
• Removes and decommissions old PBX/Telephone, PBX phones and old Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS)
• Plans, analyzes and coordinates site equipment requirements
• Coordinates with Project Managers in establishing project priority lists

Requirements

• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• OR 10 years of experience in a similar position, with 4 years of experience substituting for the required degree on a year-for-year basis
• OR Completion of a recognized low voltage apprenticeship program

Qualifications

• BICSI Technician Certification (TECH)
• Cisco Certified Technician (CCT)
• Certified Valcom PAInstaller
