Build your career with Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, a leading provider of fire, life safety, and security solutions. As a Low Voltage Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring that security, fire alarm, and related low voltage systems operate effectively.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, maintain, and repair security, fire alarm, and related low voltage systems.
- Service security and fire alarm systems and related devices; dismantle and/or reconstruct equipment as needed.
- Conduct testing and inspections of security and fire alarm systems under maintenance agreements.
- Troubleshoot and complete necessary repairs.
- Make connections and adjustments as directed; test the operation of all system components.
- Ensure work is done in accordance with local building codes and standards.
- Work with technicians and contractors to install and terminate devices.
- Diagnose electrical problems in residential and/or commercial buildings.
- Measure voltage.
- Knowledgably discuss the implications of installing various types of wiring.
- Provide on-site support and training to clients.
- Conduct site surveys upon request of management.
- Report on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material to management.
- Communicate with customers on job status or completion (installation or service).
- Able to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Able to operate a fleet vehicle safely.
- Able to work independently on customer sites.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school training is a plus.
- Experience servicing commercial security and fire alarm systems is required.
- Limited Energy Systems Electrician license is required.
- Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation to/from office or job site.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical School Training: A plus.
- Experience: Experience servicing commercial security and fire alarm systems is required.
- Licenses: Limited Energy Systems Electrician license is required.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, walk, reach, climb (ladder/stairs), bend, verbally communicate via telephone, lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Skills
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems.
- Ability to train customers on the operation of their system.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely.
- Ability to work independently on customer sites.

Pay Rate
$30.00 - $40.00 per hour DOE.
Schedule
Work may involve both scheduled service calls and emergency response.
