Low Voltage Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Technician / AV Installation Technician with at least 1+ years of hands-on experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting low-voltage systems in commercial environments. This role will primarily focus on structured cabling, pathway installation, terminations, and supporting Audio Visual deployments for enterprise clients. The position is a contract role based out of Wilmington, NC, fully onsite, with an anticipated application deadline of October 15, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, support, and terminate low-voltage cabling in commercial facilities
• Perform punch downs in telecommunications and IDF/MDF closets
• Terminate and test data drops, patch panels, and jacks
• Install AV equipment including displays, cameras, microphones, speakers, and conferencing systems
• Rack and stack equipment in telecom and AV racks
• Troubleshoot connectivity, cabling, and AV system issues
• Ensure all cable runs are neat, labeled, and installed according to industry standards
• Test systems and verify functionality prior to project completion
• Work alongside permanent Intellicom staff in customer-facing environments

Qualifications

• Experience with CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cable installation
• Cable routing, dressing, labeling, and pathway management
• Terminating copper cabling, patch panels, and workstation outlets
• Punch downs using 66 and 110 blocks
• Testing and certifying cable installations
• Reading blueprints and installation drawings
• Commercial low-voltage installation standards and NEC requirements
• AV equipment installation and connectivity

Pay

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00 per hour.
