Low Voltage Technician
Responsibilities
- Pull, route, and secure Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cable
- Terminate copper and fiber cabling
- Install cable supports, J-hooks, cable trays, and pathways
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams
- Test and troubleshoot cable runs using industry-standard testing equipment
- Label and document cabling installations
- Install and support network infrastructure, cameras, access control, and other low-voltage systems
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment on job sites
Requirements
- Experience pulling and terminating low-voltage cable
- Basic understanding of structured cabling standards
- Ability to use hand and power tools
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites throughout Connecticut
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders or lifts
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or with a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fiber optic installations and terminations
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
- Connecticut Low Voltage License (T1, T2, C5, or C6)
- Experience working in commercial construction, hospitals, schools, data centers, or office environments
About the Role
TEKsystems is seeking motivated Cable Technicians to support commercial structured cabling projects throughout Connecticut. We are looking for candidates with experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgeport, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr. Requirements Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
