Responsibilities

The Low Voltage Technician performs preventive maintenance, repairs, and installation of structured cable, fire alarm, CCTV, and access controls.

  • Install/Program/Commission cabling and installation of access control, CCTV/IP video, or other low-voltage systems.
  • Effectively communicate the status and operation of the low voltage systems to the team.
  • Work both in a team environment or on their own with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a desire to learn, succeed, set goals, and meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Capable of performing other duties as required.
  • A strong background and knowledge of commercial/industrial low-voltage cabling and installation.
  • Willing to train the right applicant.
  • Good communication skills and strong computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background requirements.
  • Programming experience is ideal.

Pay

Wages range from $16 - $35 an hour, depending on experience and education.

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues with systematic, thoughtful, timely, and effective solutions and procedures.
  • Demonstrate proper and safe use of tools and related equipment.
  • Experience in providing quality, professional customer-related services.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively individually as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle disruptions in stride with professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently in a commercial setting.

The position occasionally may require lifting heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and performing strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. May work with or around typical construction materials and chemicals requiring safety data sheet knowledge.
