About the role

The Low Voltage Technician performs preventive maintenance, repair, and installation of structured cabling, fire alarm systems, CCTV/IP video, access control, and other low-voltage systems. Travel is expected based on project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, and commission low-voltage systems including access control, CCTV/IP video, structured cabling, and related technologies
  • Clearly communicate system status, updates, and needs with team members
  • Work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision
  • Set goals, meet deadlines, and maintain a positive, solutions-focused attitude
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial low-voltage cabling and installation
  • Willing to train the right applicant
  • Effective communication skills and strong computer proficiency
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background requirements
  • Programming experience preferred

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • May require driving or riding in a vehicle for extended periods
  • Outdoor work may involve varying temperatures and weather conditions
  • Frequent use of hands, tools, and equipment
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and performing labor in challenging field conditions
  • May be exposed to typical construction materials and chemicals (safety data sheet knowledge required)

Pay

$16–$35/hour, depending on experience and education
