Position Summary
The Service Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical and technology systems in commercial and industrial environments.Key Responsibilities
- Service & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and low voltage systems.
- Identify root causes of equipment and system failures and implement corrective actions.
- Perform service, maintenance, repair, installation, and inspection work.
- Respond to emergency service calls and critical customer needs.
- Perform preventative maintenance services in accordance with customer agreements.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Test and verify system performance after repairs and installations.
- Customer Service
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during service visits.
- Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and project status clearly and professionally.
- Build strong customer relationships through exceptional service and responsiveness.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for additional repairs, upgrades, and maintenance services.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Complete service tickets, work orders, inspection reports, and required documentation accurately and timely.
- Document labor hours, materials used, and work performed.
- Maintain accurate service records and customer information.
- Support accurate billing and job costing through complete documentation.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies and customer safety requirements.
- Utilize PPE and maintain safe work practices at all times.
- Participate in safety meetings and training programs.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in a safe and professional condition.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical service experience preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working independently in customer-facing environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Texas Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and participate in random testing.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated surfaces.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces as needed.
