Job Summary
The Low Voltage (LV) Basic Installer is responsible for the installation, service, and repair of basic infrastructure and various equipment. This is an entry-level position requiring classroom and on-the-job training as instructed by the LV Manager. The position involves travel and staying overnight at work sites as needed. It also requires being a positive and contributing team member.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs full range of installations and connections of infrastructure, including copper communication cable, fiber optic cable, physical security hardware, and wireless products.
- Troubleshoots and repairs or replaces equipment components as necessary.
- Maintains and manages own inventory.
- Mets or exceeds appropriate productivity standards relative to assigned products as outlined by manager.
- Maintains and protects company property.
- Completes all required administrative tasks (paperwork) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Performs access control.
- Completes all required certifications under close supervision of manager.
- Follows company training programs, policies, and guidelines.
- Represents the company in a professional manner.
- Resolves customer issues while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Classroom Training
- Completes all assigned certifications.
- Attends scheduled training to acquire or increase working knowledge of Basic Low Voltage communication and security networks.
On-the-Job Training
- Receives direction and performs assignments relative to the installation and repair of connectivity products and equipment at customer locations and/or shop facility.
- Installs all equipment modifications and accessories on assigned equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Basic installation knowledge (mechanics, Low Voltage electrical circuitry, power tools, and basic computer literacy).
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and customer service skills, including the ability to follow up to ensure closure of issues.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Ability to methodically approach problems to resolve the problem.
- Ability to read and comprehend written technical information in the form of technical manuals, parts books, and relevant publications.
