Low Voltage Installer

About the role

Location: Omaha, NE. Duration: Through November 2026. Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM‑3:30 PM. TEKsystems is seeking 2 Fiber Technicians and 2 Fiber Helpers to support a client on a commercial data center construction project in Omaha, NE. This large‑scale infrastructure project involves fiber optic, Cat6, and low‑voltage cabling installations. Work boots, jeans, and sleeved shirts are required; PPE is provided onsite.

Responsibilities

• Fiber Technicians: Install, route, label, and terminate fiber optic cabling
• Fiber Technicians: Perform fiber testing using Fluke or similar testing equipment
• Fiber Technicians: Install and support Cat6 and instrumentation cabling
• Fiber Technicians: Read and interpret project drawings and specifications
• Fiber Technicians: Maintain quality standards and follow safety procedures
• Fiber Helpers: Assist with cable pulling and installation activities
• Fiber Helpers: Support labeling and organization of cabling infrastructure
• Fiber Helpers: Help maintain tools, materials, and work areas
• Fiber Helpers: Assist technicians with fiber and low‑voltage installation tasks
• Fiber Helpers: Follow project safety and job site requirements

Skills

• Fiber optic cable installation
• Fiber labeling and termination
• Experience with fiber testing (Technicians)
• Cat6 cabling experience preferred
• Low‑voltage cabling experience is a plus

Requirements

• OSHA 10 Certification
• MEWP/Lift Certification preferred (onsite certification available if needed)
• Ability to work in a commercial construction environment

Pay

The pay range for this position is $30.00‑$40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
