Low Voltage Installer
About the role
The Low Voltage Installer position is ideal for individuals with hands-on technical experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality installations that meet industry and safety standards. This role involves providing reliable, high-quality customer support through installation, configuration, and maintenance of a wide range of low voltage systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, set up, and configure healthcare-specific systems including nurse call, public address, resident wandering, infant abduction, CATV, and CCTV.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and verification to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for accurate installations.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other trades to meet project timelines and specifications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations, service calls, and inventory.
- Provide professional customer service and clear communication with clients and team members.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Technical certification in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience as a low voltage installer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in installing and troubleshooting cable and low voltage systems.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs., working at heights, and using hand/power tools safely.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and occasional out-of-town projects.
Qualifications
- Experience with IP-based systems or networking fundamentals.
- Proficiency with Windows 10, Windows 11, and Server operating systems.
- Familiarity with healthcare-specific systems such as nurse call.
- Skilled in using various test equipment (e.g., multimeters, PA testing tools).
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Skills
