General Duties And Responsibilities

  • Install low voltage copper and fiber optic cabling.
  • Terminate, test copper and fiber cabling systems using certified test equipment.
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Repair and install network enabled systems such as CCTV, Access Control, AV Control Systems, Central Sound, Video Management Servers, Projectors, Screens, Interactive Displays, etc.
  • Affords assistance in keeping building common and technology spaces in a neat, orderly and safe condition.
  • Accomplishes work in accordance with blueprints and specifications, national and local codes and industry standards such as TIA and BICSI.
  • Updates as-built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.
  • Attends Toolbox safety meetings and demonstrates safety competency in addition to any other recommended topics such as harassment prevention, ethics, etc.
  • Obtains an OSHA 10 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification.
  • Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.

Education And Experience

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Knowledge of the Low Voltage Integration or ICT industry.
  • BICSI and/or AVIXA certification desirable but not required.
  • A valid Driver’s License.

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders, work at heights and be proficient in the use of common hand and power tools.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to commute to field locations and various job sites.
  • The employee must have the ability to navigate around job site locations.
