General Duties And Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test copper and fiber cabling systems.
- Implement, activate, and support CCTV, Access Control, Video Management, and intrusion systems.
- Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, test equipment.
- Read project drawings, specifications, submittals and develop project implementation plans.
- Utilize Excel, Word, Outlook, and associated business applications to communicate/document project.
- Maintain and require safety requirements and support safety efforts of the organization.
- Accomplish work in accordance with expectations and ensure national and local codes and industry standards are maintained.
- Provide updates to as-built drawings as necessary, according to department policies.
- Attend/hold Tool Box safety meetings and demonstrate safety competency in addition to any other recommended topics such as harassment prevention, ethics, etc.
- Obtain OSHA 30 Safety and Health standards certification.
- Extended hours or weekend overtime may be available.
Education And Experience
- 5 Years of field experience performing Low Voltage and/or Security systems.
- BICSI certification desirable but not required.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to walk; use fingers and hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
- Frequently required to stand.
- Occasionally required to sit.
- Must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to move/lift heavy objects, climb vertical ladders, work at heights and be proficient in the use of common hand and power tools.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must have the ability to navigate around job site locations.
Work Environment
- Regularly required to work outdoors, be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical and electrical parts; high, precarious places; dust, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions, extended exposure to sunlight; cold and heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
