Low Voltage Cabling Lead

Jobot · Raleigh, NC · 2 wk ago
On-siteOTHR$24–$30/hrFull-time

We're an established enterprise technology systems integrator serving Raleigh and the surrounding region. Rather than a pure cabling contractor, we bundle several low-voltage specialties — structured cabling, audio visual, commercial security, fire alarm, fire protection, and electrical — under one roof, so we can be a single vendor handling everything a modern facility needs. Our structured cabling work spans data centers, large campus environments, DAS, sound masking, and wireless, and we do full design/build, taking projects from concept through deployment rather than pure install-only work. Our client base includes corporate, industrial, manufacturing, new construction, retrofit, and state/local government projects.

Why join us?

  • Heavy investment in training — OSHA 10/30 provided, plus a path to BICSI school for techs who stay
  • All PPE provided (besides boots), water and ice supplied on every job
  • Real autonomy and flexibility in how you run your projects
  • Family-friendly culture — known for accommodating people with kids and strong PTO
  • Company-issued van, ladders, racks, and gear for leads (helpers ride with leads to jobsites)
  • Production bonus program in place, currently being revamped/expanded for participating techs

About the role

We're looking for a Lead/Senior Structured Cabling Technician to run field crews and own project execution from materials planning through final deployment. You'll work independently in the field under a Project Manager, leading a two-person crew (you plus a helper), with a roughly 50/50 mix of fiber and copper work across data center, campus, and commercial projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and organize cabling projects: materials, sequencing, crew direction, and full deployment
  • Run a crew of two (lead + helper), with company-issued van, ladders/racks, and equipment provided
  • Work across structured cabling, with potential cross-training into AV and fire alarm over time
  • Perform testing and certification on completed work
  • Operate largely self-directed in the field, reporting into a Project Manager

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of structured cabling experience, Level II or III
  • Ability to independently organize and lead a project, not just execute tasks
  • Comfortable with a 50/50 fiber/copper workload
  • Must pass background check, MVR, and drug screen
  • Certifications a plus (BICSI, etc.) but not required — they will help you with certifications as you grow

Pay

$24 - $30 per hour

Schedule

  • Typical hours 8-5pm, occasionally as early as 7am depending on the project
  • Rare nights or on-call
  • Occasional weekend work tied to customer schedules
  • Local to the Raleigh area
