Cabling Lead

About the role

The Cabling Lead oversees and manages all aspects of cabling installation projects across various sites within the United States. This role ensures efficient and safe cabling infrastructure installation, adhering to industry standards and project specifications. The Cabling Lead coordinates with project managers, engineers, and technicians to plan and execute cabling layouts, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise cabling installation teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
• Develop detailed cabling plans and schedules in collaboration with project managers and engineers.
• Conduct site assessments to determine cabling requirements and identify potential challenges.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
• Train and mentor cabling technicians to enhance their skills and maintain quality standards.
• Cook up procurement and inventory management of cabling materials and tools.
• Perform quality inspections and testing of installed cabling to verify performance and reliability.
• Document project progress, issues, and resolutions, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems related to cabling installations promptly.
• Collaborate with other trades and departments to ensure seamless integration of cabling systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in cabling or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cabling installation with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Strong knowledge of structured cabling systems, including fiber optics and copper cabling standards.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and industry safety standards.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
