About the role
Mission Critical Solutions (MCS) is hiring for Low Voltage Cable Technicians at Orlando, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
Responsibilities
- Installing, but not limited to Card readers, door contacts, motion Rex, Intercoms, Motion Detectors, Glass Breaks, Speakers, Nurse Call lights, Push Buttons, and Patient Stations.
- Installing and terminating all Low Voltage cabling.
- Terminating, testing, and labeling end-user devices.
- Utilizing industry standards and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
- Maintaining open communication with direct superior ensuring that work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
- Ensuring all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards.
- Ensuring plans, specs, and wiring diagrams are adhered to.
- Following and maintaining proper safety practices.
Requirements
- Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Certification Requirements: Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge.
- Experience Requirements: 2+ years in a Tech Role, 2+ years’ experience in the commercial building construction industry related to: Structured Cabling, Security, Access Control, CCTV, A/V, Paging. Nurse Call, Sound Masking.
- Must have reliable transportation. Must have own hand tools.
- Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
- Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in high places and in confined places.
Qualifications
- Must be able to work in various environments including finished space interiors and new construction sites.
- Appropriate dress according to the work environment is required.
- Work hours will vary according to individual projects. Some jobs may require weekend shifts.
Skills
- Adaptability to install multiple types of devices.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team setting.
- Knowledge of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.
