Low Voltage Cable Technician

About the role

Mission Critical Solutions (MCS) is hiring for Low Voltage Cable Technicians in Volusia County, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.

Responsibilities

• Install, but not limited to Card readers, door contacts, motion Rex, Intercoms, Motion Detectors, Glass Breaks, Speakers, Nurse Call lights, Push Buttons, and Patient Stations.
• Install and terminate all Low Voltage cabling.
• Terminate, test, and label end-user devices.
• Utilize industry standards and company-approved installation methods and techniques.
• Ensure all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards.
• Ensure plans, specs, and wiring diagrams are adhered to.
• Maintain open communication with direct superior ensuring that work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations.
• Follow and maintain proper safety practices.

Requirements

• Educational Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certification Requirements: Ability to obtain a Florida State JLA (Jessica Lunsford Act) Badge.
• Experience Requirements: 2+ years in a Tech Role, 2+ years’ experience in the commercial building construction industry related to: Structured Cabling, Security, Access Control, CCTV, A/V, Paging. Nurse Call, Sound Masking.
• Must have reliable transportation. Must have own hand tools.
• Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
• Must be able to stand, kneel and crouch for long periods of time.
• Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in high places and in confined places.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in various environments including finished space interiors and new construction sites.
• Appropriate dress according to the work environment is required.
• Work hours will vary according to individual projects. Some jobs may require weekend shifts.

Skills

• Adaptability to install multiple types of devices.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team setting.
• Knowledge of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations.
