About the role

Montana’s Best Casinos is seeking a Casino Bookkeeper who can assist in planning, leadership, organizing, and follow-ups in areas such as office procedures, vendor invoicing, computer data entries, and shortage controls. The ideal candidate will also make accounting decisions consistent with Casino Operations standards, policies, and procedures, effectively prioritize and organize office tasks, maintain the security of all casino assets, control of casino cash funds, inventories, complete audit shift reports, casino daily reports, casino daily purchases, mark up/down inventory adjustments, and auditing and completing of casino payroll records. Additionally, the position requires being available to work weekends and completing other duties assigned by management.

Responsibilities

  • Avoids errors in accounting records and ensures accuracy of financial statements.
  • Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations related to accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Assists in the preparation of financial reports and presentations.
  • Manages vendor relationships and processes invoices.
  • Handles cash transactions and maintains accurate records.
  • Monitors and reconciles accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepares bank deposits and ensures timely delivery to the bank.
  • Completes audit shift reports, casino daily reports, and other relevant documents.
  • Performs inventory adjustments and completes payroll records.
  • Supports the team in maintaining a professional, positive, and customer-focused environment.
  • Ensures adherence to safety protocols and security measures.
  • May be required to work weekends and additional hours as needed.

Requirements

  • Holds a current Montana Driver’s License and maintains an acceptable driving record.
  • Completes alcohol sales/service certification approved by the State of Montana provided by the company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
