What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain client relationships.
  • Lead business development activities, including direct client interaction and engagement.
  • Procure, manage, and execute DOTD projects as needed.
  • Manage projects, coordinating with sub-consultants, scheduling projects/tasks, negotiating and developing contract scope and fees, preparing cost estimates, planning production oversight, managing design team members.
  • Participate in marketing activities, such as proposal and letter of interest production, interviews, and other presentations.
  • Foster collaboration between design teams and specialized service providers.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) in the state of Louisiana or the ability to obtain reciprocity within six months.
  • 15 or more years of experience managing diverse transportation and roadway projects.
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills, including the ability to recruit, develop, mentor, and oversee a highly motivated team, coordinate and balance workload with other regional teams, and present team portfolio performance to senior management.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prepare scope-of-work and level-of-effort estimates for contract proposals, and to lead and manage a team for successful execution of contracted scope, budget, and schedule.

About the Role

We are seeking a Practice Leader to join our team in the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area to work with LaDOTD to improve their Project Delivery and build and manage a portfolio of profitable roadway and transportation projects for LaDOTD.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer Licensure (PE) in the state of Louisiana or the ability to obtain reciprocity within six months.
