Lot Porter
About the role
The Lot Porter verifies receipt of vehicles delivered to the dealer, compares serial numbers of incoming cars against the invoice, inspects vehicles for damage, verifies accessories as listed on the invoice, assigns stock control numbers to vehicles, catalogs/stores keys, and re-shuttles vehicles following sales to maximize use of lot space and order.
Responsibilities
- Serves vehicles with gas, oil, and water
- Performs maintenance on cars in storage to protect tires, batteries, and exteriors from deterioration
- Moves sold vehicles to maximize use of space and keep the lot in order
- Delivers sold vehicles to the new-vehicle preparation department
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Unrestricted driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Trustworthy demeanor
- Ability to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
Qualifications
The ideal Lot Porter should have the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 75 lbs., push, pull, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, handle, finger, feel, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, adjust lenses, identify colors, observe areas up and down, right or left, and adjust to weather, moving mechanical parts, non-climate controlled conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, high, exposed places, noise, vibration, and loading job applications.
