About the Position

The Loss Recovery Specialist is responsible for bringing charged‑off auto loan accounts to resolution by negotiating payment in full or settlement and initiating legal action as appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Receive and make inbound and outbound calls to current and former customers with charged‑off accounts to negotiate repayment or settlement.
• Perform extensive skip‑tracing and asset searches as necessary.
• Utilize outside skip‑tracing services when needed.
• Recommend initiation of legal actions as appropriate.
• Coordinate approved legal action with the in‑house legal department.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
• 5+ years of experience in collections, with at least 3+ years handling charged‑off accounts, preferably in the subprime consumer lending industry.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply federal, state, and local collections regulations.
• Ability to interact with customers in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and work independently as well as part of a team.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED.
