Loss Prevention Specialist

Job Summary

Protects the Company's assets to include the Associate, Merchandise and Property.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintains ID badge monitoring for entry/exit to the facility and warehouse for all associates
• Maintains visitor, vendor, and contractor entry/exit monitoring and controls for the facility and warehouse
• Maintains monitoring and control of sample merchandise, RTV (Return to Vendor), damage, and charity product disposal according to company guidelines
• Maintains monitoring and control of fire and safety regulations within the facility
• Maintains monitoring and control of FA/BA (Fire Alarms/Burglar Alarms) to ensure proper responses and/or dispatching
• Maintains trailer handling at the gatehouse and in the trailer yards
• Responds to emergency situations, such as medical, fire, weather, hazardous material, and security-related incidents and takes appropriate actions as stated by Marmaxx policy
• Assists in evacuations as necessary
• Ensures 0% physical security breakdowns

Associate Awareness

• Conducts ongoing loss prevention, safety, and shrinkage awareness programs for all associates and management staff
• Ensures policies and procedures are consistently followed
• Reports unsafe conditions and acts to appropriate personnel

Investigations/Auditing

• Conducts basic investigations to associate dishonesty, power equipment accidents, and personnel injury accidents
• Conducts audits to uncover dishonesty, paperwork errors, and shrink-related opportunities and ensures compliance with government regulations and insurance requirements
• Initiates and maintains all investigations of dishonest acts, sabotage, and accidents
• Conducts safety and security tours of the distribution center identifying unsafe acts, weaknesses in the program, etc.
• Conducts audits to identify accuracy issues and operational execution areas

Job Knowledge

• Minimum formal education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum job skills required: CCTV Systems, Fire Alarm Systems, Burglar Alarm Systems, Access Control Systems, Yard Management Systems, MS Word, Excel, Access
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong conflict resolution skills

Minimum Experience Required

• Minimum 1-2 years of security and/or Loss Prevention experience
• Background in school/work pertaining to Criminal Justice field
