Overview
The Loss Prevention Officer ensures the safety and tranquil stay of hotel guests and employees, enforcing hotel policies and recording incidents.
Responsibilities
- Patrol hotel property to ensure safety and protect assets.
- Answer house calls to assist guests and associates with safety, security, and hotel operations.
- Initiate and follow-up with investigations of crimes committed against property and persons.
- Assist sick/injured guests or associates, ensuring all documentation and reporting are completed promptly.
- Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, and monitor their resolution.
- Maintain accurate records, including camera monitoring, shift activity logs, codebooks, and interactions.
- Maintain visitor and vendor access by distributing badges and performing frequent bag checks.
- Escort and interact with special guests, ensuring privacy and safety.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive guest or associate issues.
- Aid hotel management in emergency situations, following safety procedures and directing guests and associates to safety.
Qualifications
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours per shift.
- Effective communication skills via phone, email, radio, and reporting.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to reach various areas rapidly if necessary.
- Age 21 or older due to alcohol handling responsibilities.
- Calm and professional demeanor under stress.
- Pass drug screening and MVR.
- Flexible schedule including day, night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
