Loss Investigation Specialist

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site investigations of claims/accidents or fixed-site inspections of damages.
• Take photographs, obtain official reports, gather details of events, and document parties involved.
• Prepare reports by collecting and summarizing information required by clients and Crawford.
• Provide reports to Crawford Licensed Adjusters for handling claims/accidents (within 8 hours for transportation claims).
• Document and transmit reports and photos via the internet.
• Provide prompt customer service to clients, insureds, claimants, etc.
• Escalate incidents or calls to other parties for resolution.
• Affirm correct documents are attached where appropriate.
• Assist management with reports or provide reports as needed.
• Work beyond normal business hours when necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Completion and passing of Crawford specified training for placement on assignments.
• Ability to operate a camera, computer, and/or office technology.
• Previous experience as a Casualty Claims Adjuster preferred, and experience in or with law enforcement or public service is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Good diplomacy skills and ability to reason in difficult situations.
• Physical ability to crouch, reach, and lift heavy objects.
• Strong customer service skills.
