Loss Control Consultant – Safety & Compliance

About the role

Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) provides business insurance, employee health & benefits, retirement, and private client insurance solutions. As a Loss Control Consultant on the Safety & Compliance team, you will conduct site assessments, review and develop safety policies, and advise clients on risk‑prevention strategies to ensure compliance with insurance requirements and governmental regulations such as OSHA and DOT.

Responsibilities

• Perform site assessments to identify potential loss‑causing issues and non‑compliance with governmental regulations.
• Review existing client policies and procedures for compliance with agencies (e.g., OSHA, DOT) and insurance company requirements.
• Develop written safety policies and procedures tailored to client needs to meet insurance, regulatory, or other stakeholder requirements.
• Provide alternative approaches and risk‑prevention or reduction recommendations to help customers implement effective safety and loss‑prevention programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 4+ years of safety, compliance, loss prevention/control experience, including strong knowledge of insurance carrier loss‑control services and governmental safety regulations.
• Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, management, and peers.
• CPR certified.
• Strong interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
• Additional certifications that are a plus (not required): ARM, CRM, OHST, CSP, or CIH.
