Loom Maintenance Technician -Apprentice

About the role

The Loom Maintenance Technician or LMT at JPS Composite Materials is responsible for the maintenance and service on assigned looms. This includes tasks such as flag fixing, blowing off reeds, setting up TPM looms, setting doffs, aligning nozzles, and starting new warps/tie backs. The LMT ensures looms are in production by using trouble-shooting methods to maintain high quality. They also lubricate loom parts regularly, maintain proper loom specifications, and verify controlled SOC on looms. Other responsibilities include covering sand drums and rollers, changing cutter blades, inputting/receiving data from Barco, activating warp changes with Barco interactive warp entry, monitoring the high loom stop program, writing requisitions for needed loom parts, and working orders for electricians. Additionally, the LMT assists weavers to take breaks.

Requirements

Requirements for the Loom Maintenance Technician position include:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in textile manufacturing or related field
• Knowledge of loom operation and maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Good communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

Qualifications for the Loom Maintenance Technician position include:

• At least 2 years of experience in textile manufacturing or related field
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and manuals
• Experience with troubleshooting and repairing looms
• Strong mechanical skills and ability to perform routine maintenance tasks
