Maintenance Technician
About the role
The Maintenance Technician at Materion is responsible for performing a variety of duties including installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining industrial machinery, equipment, utilities and physical structures. Duties include basic pipefitting, welding, painting, plumbing, basic electrical functions, reading and interpreting blueprints, and working within the waste/water treatment facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform basic pipefitting, welding, painting and plumbing
- Employ other mechanical craft skills in connection with repair or maintenance of equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, instruction manuals and work orders
- Perform basic functions within the waste/water treatment facility
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
- Fabricate steel and sheet metal projects
- Requisition materials as needed and in accordance with appropriate purchasing guidelines
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years applicable work experience or an equivalent combination of industrial maintenance experience and education
Qualifications
- Highly skilled in mechanical and electrical maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and operate various tools and equipment
Skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems
- Proficiency in basic pipefitting and welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Good communication and teamwork skills
