Longs Head Start Center Supervisor

Job Summary

The Head Start Center Supervisor will lead operations at Waccamaw Economic Opportunity Council's Longs Head Start Center, overseeing classroom activities, ensuring compliance with standards, and supporting staff development.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate classroom staff, volunteers, and daily center operations.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, health, and safety regulations.
• Conduct classroom observations and annual performance evaluations.
• Support curriculum development and program training initiatives.
• Cookordinate center activities, field trips, and special events.
• Maintain accurate records, monitoring documentation, and program files.
• Support staff professional development and morale.
• Aid in requisitioning supplies, equipment, and program materials.
• Input and maintain educational assessments and data.
• Attend required trainings, workshops, and meetings.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, or related field with equivalent coursework.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience overseeing 5 or more staff.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to attend overnight meetings and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must pass background checks (SLED/FBI), drug screening, Central Registry clearance, and required health screenings.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education.
• 3+ years of experience working with low-income preschool children.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience (10+ staff).
• Knowledge of Head Start regulations and guidelines.
