Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith. About the role

Through both training and direct field ministry experience, learn how to lead and participate in effective Young Life ministry. This role focuses on spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Spiritual Development:
    • Develop a yearly personal growth plan fostering a vibrant spiritual life, including solitude, retreat, reflection, prayer, and Bible study.
    • Seek and maintain relationships within a church community.
    • Actively participate in the spiritual life of the Young Life community.
    • Lead teams and individuals in spiritual development.
  • Leadership Development:
    • Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership.
    • Recruit and train new leaders to build a diverse and effective team.
    • Model excellence in contact work, club, Campaigners, and camping.
    • Assist in training leaders and committee members in teamwork and ministry strategy.
  • Resource Development:
    • Raise financial support and maintain donor care practices.
    • Communicate ministry updates to donor partners.
    • Network with key community adults (e.g., principals, pastors, parents).
    • Assist with camp fundraisers.
  • Direct Ministry:
    • Engage in all three levels of contact work.
    • Lead a team to plan and conduct Young Life club and Campaigners/discipleship ministry.
    • Implement summer and school-season camping strategies.
    • Serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp annually.
  • Ministry Support:
    • Adhere to Young Life policies, maintaining professionalism in office hours, dress, and conduct.
    • Manage finances with stewardship and transparency.
    • Maintain accurate records of kids, leaders, and donors.
    • Provide clear and professional communication to all involved in ministry.
    • Set and review yearly strategic ministry plans.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Job-Specific Responsibilities:
    • Lead, coach, and mobilize a team of volunteer leaders to build a Christ-centered movement at middle schools in Longmont.
    • Serve as the primary "face" of WyldLife, owning all ministry operations (club, campaigners, contact work).
    • Foster a "Radical Community" to bridge-build into the lives of middle school students and share the Gospel effectively.
    • Empower your team to disciple students, helping them grow in their faith and discover their identity in Christ.

Training

  • Missionwide Training: Optional events like New Staff Training, Winter Training, and Focus Conferences (approval required).
  • Regional Training: No required curriculum; regional training may be assigned by the regional director.
  • Area Training:
    • Engage in training provided by area leadership.
    • Individualized training to develop spiritual maturity and ministry skills (e.g., The 5 C’s).
    • Familiarize yourself with area strategy and ministry health.
    • Learn personal fundraising principles, including Basic Elements for Part-time staff.

Requirements

  • Proven relational skills with both kids and adults.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • College degree preferred.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $14,000–$25,000 per year, depending on education, experience, hours, and location.
