About the Opportunity
The Teacher will prepare and deliver lesson plans, differentiate instruction, maintain accurate student records, and utilize research‑based best practices. The role includes managing classroom behavior, creating a positive learning environment, implementing culturally responsive curricula, communicating with families, incorporating technology, and collaborating with colleagues on non‑instructional activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as needed throughout the school year.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
- Utilize research‑based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom.
- Create a positive classroom environment for student learning.
- Utilize school‑approved curricula that reflect diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
- Implement school‑wide culture expectations and norms.
- Communicate and meet with families regarding academic and social‑emotional growth.
- Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
- Participate in planning and implementation of non‑instructional activities as needed.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Ability to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.).
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
- Experience working within an urban environment.
Skills
- High level of comfort working in a growth‑focused coaching environment with frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to properly manage confidential information.
Compensation
This position is paid at a daily rate of $130 per day. Factors that may affect starting pay include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
