About the role
We are seeking a Long Haul Tractor Trailer Delivery Driver who believes in the “extra mile” philosophy. This role involves delivering and picking up Snider customer tires and wheels while operating a 53’ Tractor Trailer with a max capacity of up to 80,000 pounds. You will adhere to assigned routes and time schedules set by the Branch Manager, ensuring customer orders are fulfilled efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Operate a 53-foot tractor-trailer to deliver commercial tires/wheels (class 5 through 8) and other items to customers.
- Maintain a safe and clean driving record.
- Execute client delivery schedules, including proper loading and unloading, and obtain signed paperwork for Snider branches.
- Maintain cleanliness, equipment inventory, and upkeep of the tractor-trailer and personal gear.
- Use an ELD (Electronic Logging Device) to track hours traveled, rest periods, miles/distance covered, and report logs weekly. Document fuel, repair, toll, and other expenses.
- Communicate any traffic violations, accidents, breakdowns, or route delays to management and customers.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure mechanical systems are operating properly.
- Assist the Branch Manager with route planning for efficient deliveries.
- Stay overnight in the tractor-trailer sleeper at least two to three nights per week or as required by the route.
- Review orders before and after delivery to confirm completeness, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Accurately identify and enter casing information into an electronic device using the Michelin mobile app (MRT Mobile Solutions), apply barcodes to tires/wheels, and provide pick-up work orders.
- Interact daily with Snider Fleet Solutions customers and personnel.
- Support warehouse/service personnel with pulling, stacking, mounting, and dismounting tires.
- Maintain overnight travel receipts (e.g., gas, food).
- Follow all safety rules, wear proper PPE, and maintain a safety-conscious mindset.
- Demonstrate excellent attendance, punctuality, and adherence to uniform requirements.
- Comply with all Snider Fleet Solutions policies, procedures, and values.
Work Environment
The role primarily involves working inside a Snider Tractor-Trailer and in a warehouse environment at a TRACS/commercial truck service center. Overnight travel is required two to three times per week. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise levels.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years old.
- Clean driving record.
- At least 2 years of experience in the industry or a related management position.
- Valid Class A CDL Driver’s License and must meet company insurability standards.
- DOT Medical Certification.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Overnight travel required.
