About the Role
The CDL-A Driver delivers food and related products safely and efficiently across intrastate and interstate routes, serving as the company's face to customers. Responsibilities include ensuring timely deliveries, proper unloading, accurate paperwork, performing safety checks, adhering to DOT regulations, inspecting trailers, securing freight, and maintaining equipment and work areas. Drivers build strong customer relationships and handle returns, damages, and cash collection when required.
Responsibilities
- Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers
- Perform safety inspections and report hazards or repairs
- Follow DOT regulations and company policies for safe driving and freight handling
- Load, unload, and verify deliveries, including checking invoices and securing freight
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately and maintain vehicle logs
- Ensure trailers and equipment are secured and perform general housekeeping duties
- Assist with damage control, returns, and trash removal
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 6+ months of commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- At least 21 years old with a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- Ability to pass drug tests, background checks, and road tests
- Current DOT health card or ability to obtain one
- Physical ability to lift and handle freight ranging from 10 to 90 pounds
