Responsibilities

We have an exciting opportunity at the Department of State! The Logistics & Warehouse Manager directs the Shipping and Receiving Facility (SRF) operations to ensure we manage the assets and operations and complete required deliverables to support the customer’s mission to provide IT services to DoS users enterprise-wide.

  • Manage all packaging and shipping processes for IT equipment, including shipments to remote and challenging overseas locations, adhering to customer and DoS requirements.
  • Responsible for all logistics and warehouse staff (est. 100 FTEs) and warehouse operations.
  • Normal duty hours are from 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, with the Government reserving the right to task with extended service hours (up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week (24/7)) in the case of an emergency, special project, increased workload, or other event.
  • Provide all necessary inventory systems and administration of the warehouse and contents.
  • Administer a Government-approved COTS inventory management software capable of real-time inventory levels, shipping status, automatic packing/inventory lists, and achieving efficiencies.
  • Manage various courier, forklift, and transportation services, including logistical support for domestic and overseas shipments, as well as transporting to/from various DoS facilities within the NCR.
  • Responsible for facility operations and ensure established security measures are adequate and enforced.
  • Responsible for scheduling any planned or unplanned maintenance with the on-site staff.
  • Oversee health, safety, and inventory control of support consumables.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
  • Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification(s).

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform the below essential functions:

  • Sitting for long periods.
  • Standing for long periods.
  • Ambulate throughout an office.
  • Ambulate between several buildings.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.
  • Repeatedly lift and carry weight up to 40 pounds.
  • Travel by land or air transportation (10%).
