Logistics Supervisor

About the role

Responsible for assisting the logistics manager with associate calls, customer calls, new associate training, maintenance of equipment, and all aspects of the logistics department.

Primary Responsibilities

• Ensure all logistics associates meet DOT and CMV requirements
• Oversee the delivery of the product to the customer
• Ensure new logistics associates are trained and understand organization and operation policies and service guidelines
• Maintain the Road Net software
• Ensure the fleet is maintained properly, including all maintenance and safety-related issues
• Coach directs and counsels associates on overall performance via driver surveys & customer surveys
• Ensure productivity expectations are met and monitor progress regularly
• Identify and recommend opportunities for associate development and performance improvement requirements
• Participate in the recruitment and hiring of all logistics associates

Additional Primary Responsibilities

• Field calls and facilitate actions as necessary
• Train all logistics employees on SGWS policies
• Conduct monthly safety training/meetings, per SGWS Safety Policy
• Ensure all accidents are handled and reported, according to company policy
• Ensure all route changes are communicated daily
• Monitor schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels daily
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills

Physical Demands

• A considerable amount of time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
• Must be able to frequently lift, lower, push, carry, or pull up to 48 pounds
• Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift, pallet jacks, and battery change stations
• Work may involve repetitive motions, working at varying heights, and exposure to warehouse environmental conditions
• Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak-season schedules may be required
