Logistics Supervisor
Overview
Responsible for assisting the logistics manager with associate calls, customer calls, new associate training, maintenance of equipment, and all aspects of the logistics department.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure all logistics associates meet DOT and CMV requirements
- Oversee the delivery of the product to the customer
- Train new logistics associates and ensure understanding of organization and operation policies and service guidelines
- Maintain the Road Net software
- Maintain the fleet, including all maintenance and safety-related issues
- Coach and counsel associates on overall performance via driver surveys & customer surveys
- Ensure productivity expectations are met and monitor progress regularly
- Identify and recommend opportunities for associate development and performance improvement requirements
- Participate in the recruitment and hiring of all logistics associates
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Field calls and facilitate actions as necessary
- Train all logistics employees on SGWS policies
- Conduct monthly safety training/meetings, per SGWS Safety Policy
- Ensure all accidents are handled and reported, according to company policy
- Ensure all route changes are communicated daily
- Monitor schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels daily
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
Physical Demands
- Significant time walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping
- Frequent lifting, lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 48 pounds
- Sitting and operating machinery such as a forklift, pallet jacks, and battery change stations
- Repetitive motions, working at varying heights, and exposure to warehouse environmental conditions
- Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and peak-season schedules may be required
