Schedule

Monday – Friday, 07:00am – 3:30pm. Some evening and weekend work required.

About the Role

The City of Fort Worth Logistics Department, within the Fort Worth Fire Department, ensures ambulances remain fully stocked, compliant, and ready for service. This role manages all medical supplies and equipment for the ambulance fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and daily oversight of EMS Logistics personnel, including assigning work, ensuring compliance with policies, and maintaining a safe, productive work environment.
  • Oversee inventory management and operational readiness of medical supplies, controlled substances, durable medical equipment, and emergency response vehicles through quality assurance, audits, and inventory control processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies through accurate documentation, quality control inspections, controlled substance management, and investigation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Support emergency preparedness by coordinating logistics for mass casualty incidents, special events, and other emergency operations, including after-hours and on-call response as needed.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for EMS logistics operations by providing technical guidance, training, mentoring, and onboarding of logistics personnel.
  • Monitor expiration dates of medications and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and stock levels.
  • Ensure availability of essential supplies for operations.
  • Receive, inspect, and process supply orders.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business administration, purchasing, accounting, or related field.
  • Four (4) years of prior EMS logistics, inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain operations experience.
  • One (1) year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to drive an ambulance and have a driving record in compliance with policy regarding insurability.
  • Must pass Drug Screen and Physical.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with vendor relationship management.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and equipment.
  • Experience with managing multiple supply locations.

Heavy Work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
