Logistics Supervisor

Supports the day-to-day operations of the branch in coordination with the Warehouse Manager to meet customer needs through logistics and service coordination. Creates efficient zone routings, coordinates with shipping personnel, works with fleet repair shops, and monitors third-party freight costs.

Responsibilities

• Manages team resources (personnel and equipment) to ensure an efficient and safe work environment for employee-owners.
• Establishes clear expectations for team members, fosters open communication, recognizes contributions, and addresses performance issues.
• Identifies training needs, provides coaching and mentorship, and supports career development initiatives.
• Communicates with company drivers, sales staff, and customers.
• Develops and grows Service Excellence through planning, communication, and commitment.
• Creates feasible and efficient zone routings for delivering goods by drivers.
• Coordinates and communicates with shipping personnel to establish consistent and efficient delivery methods.
• Coordinates value-added services and special programs for strategic business relationship customers.
• Works with fleet repair shops to ensure maximum service and fair market pricing on repairs.
• Reduces and monitors third-party freight costs (courier fees).
• Ensures all team members have the correct equipment and understand safety expectations and site requirements for each delivery location.
• Coordinates third-party deliveries when necessary.
• Coaches safety and reviews drive-cam events.
• Maintains driver records and DOT regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of a four-year business, industrial distribution, or related degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in leading others preferred.
• Minimum of two years of prior customer service or sales experience with knowledge of business processes and procedures, emphasizing accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English preferred.
• Advanced working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint) preferred.
