Logistics Specialist / Truck Driver TS/SCI

Purpose and Impact

Amentum is seeking a Logistics Specialist – Truck Driver to join their team in Winchester VA. This role supports warehouse operations logistics lifecycle including shipping and receiving, accountability, and storage.

Essential Responsibilities

• Execute logistics and warehousing activities: Operate software programs for managing logistical functions, maintain inventories in DPAS, provide reports on logistics activities using Microsoft Office.
• Maintain and update inventories in Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
• Use Microsoft Office suite to provide reports to leadership on logistics activities.
• Responsible for the packaging and documentation for all materials. Ensure items are labeled, stored, and packed properly, including the safe and efficient use of Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
• Transportation activities: Receive trip assignments, perform safety inspections, ensure vehicles are prepared for trips, assist with truck loading, unload trucks, assist with backhaul cargo loading.
• Travel as needed (20-30%)

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands

Exposure to fumes from vehicles, noise, and dust. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Use of computer terminals is required.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Class A CDL, 10 years of experience driving over the road.
• Pass a DOT Physical.
• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance within the last 5 years or designated CE, and ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
• Basic knowledge in operating MS-Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point.
• Thorough knowledge of the safe operation of a range of vehicles and material handling equipment.
• Expert ability to read maps and follow directions to locate proper delivery destinations.
• Ability to operate a range of vehicles, including box trucks, forklifts, and other material handling equipment.

Security Clearance Required

This position requires an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance that has been adjudicated in the last 5 years or designated CE and the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.

Preferred Qualifications

• HAZMAT endorsement
• Forklift certification up to 8000lb capacity, or able to obtain within 6 months.

• Safety - Develop and maintain a safe work environment. Complete all training requirements and fulfill self-aid/buddy aid responsibilities, participate in emergency response tasks, serve on safety committees and teams.
• Quality - Provide services that meet customer expectations. Conform to the Amentum Quality Policy and carry out job activities in compliance with applicable Amentum Quality System documents and customer contracts.
• Procedure Compliance - Read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to job activities.

Compensation Details

$85,000 - $100,000
